Public installation coming soon

Excel for Windows, Mac and the web.
Microsoft sign-in required.

Illustrated workflow. Follow the step-by-step guides.

Bring over values. Review the source. No mystery cells.

A very short workflow

Drop it in. Pick what you need. Return to the source.

01

Drop it in

Open one PDF or a few. Digital files and scans both work.

02

Pick what you need

Select a word, date, number or table. PDFind puts it into the active Excel cell.

03

Return to the source

Select a linked Excel cell to return to its highlighted PDF source.

Easy to review

Keep the evidence with your values.

PDFind records the page and source area for extracted values. Save the workbook and its attached documents for later review. When sharing the workbook, make sure your reviewer also has Microsoft access to the source files.

How source checking works
  • Jump from a linked Excel cell back to the PDF
  • See when an extracted cell has changed
  • Bring over a full table in one go
  • Keep each workbook's PDFs separate in OneDrive

Before you start

A few useful answers.

Is PDFind a website or an Excel add-in?

PDFind runs inside Microsoft Excel on Windows, Mac and the web. This website explains the product; you use the add-in from your workbook. Check installation and availability.

What is included for free?

After Microsoft sign-in, View includes source review and a Create evaluation with three unique PDFs and one persistently saved PDF. These are lifetime account limits. Reopening a counted PDF does not use another slot, and deletion does not restore the allowance.

Can I use a personal Microsoft account?

Yes, for the free View plan and its Create evaluation. Personal accounts stay on View. Buying paid Create and assigning seats requires an eligible work or school account.

Does PDFind send my PDFs to an AI service?

PDF processing and English/Polish OCR run inside the Office task pane. PDF content is not sent to PDFind's licensing or telemetry API or an external OCR provider. Saved source files use Microsoft storage. Read the security details.

Do source links follow edited or sorted cells?

A changed cell is marked Cell changed, and source navigation is disabled. Sorting or copying cells does not reliably carry their references with them. See how to review source status.

Can someone else review my workbook?

Yes, when they have access to the workbook and its source PDFs. Sharing the workbook alone does not grant Microsoft access to the documents. Check account and file permissions.
